SOS From Texas

SOS FROM TEXAS

The American-made T-shirts from SOS From Texas really are 100% “homegrown.” The Oldham family began growing cotton more than 100 years ago on a fertile prairie and the family now maintains this fertility with crop rotations and habitat for beneficial insects. When you slip on a sun-washed, organic tee or snuggle into one of their soft, undyed nightshirts, you can rest with full peace of mind, knowing that your shirt is doing good for the land and supporting small American farms.

The Highest Level of Organic Certification

“Organic” labeling on cotton clothing can tend to be a vague notion that’s hard to pin down. However, when it comes to American-made T-shirts, you can be sure that the organic cotton used conforms to the highest possible standards.

Since 1992, the cotton fields owned by SOS From Texas have been certified organic by the Texas Department of Agriculture. This process requires a three-year period of chemical-free farming before the crop can be labeled as “certified organic.”

Processed Close to Home

After the organic cotton is harvested from the family’s cotton fields in Texas, it is ginned at their certified organic gin and shipped to North Carolina to be spun into yarn. From there, the yarn is knitted, finished, and sewn in the Carolinas before being distributed to retailers and customers around the country.

In contrast to many organic tees, these American-made T-shirts are traceable from beginning to end and involve only American labor. Workers are paid fairly and sew each cotton garment with care. This is reflected in a quality tee or nightshirt that will last for years.
