Our clothing is made of environmentally sensitive fabrics and low-impact dyes. We source only ethically made products. Both our US-based and overseas ethical fashion brands take care to ensure that all workers are treated fairly, are safe from sweatshop conditions and receive fair living wages. No children are ever employed by any of our manufacturers. And of course, we consistently donate both our time and money to environmental charities.

Steeped in Sustainability

Find out more about our laser focus on sustainability in everything we do.

“The environment, after all, is where we all meet, where we all have a mutual interest. It is one thing that all of us share. It is not only a mirror of ourselves, but a focusing lens on what we can become.”

— Lady Bird Johnson

“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”

— Jane Goodall

“Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you."
— Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Our Pricing

stupid saleWe price all of our products from US manufacturers below suggested retail price. We believe that the more we can introduce and expand environmentally conscious clothing into the marketplace, the better off we'll all be. So we're sacrificing a little per-item profit in the hopes of making our line accessible to a wider audience.

Because our everyday pricing on men's and women's clothing is already lower than retail, we aren't the kind of company that offers sales and coupons constantly. We're all familiar with some big fashion stores that literally have a "sale" every single day. It's a way to trick consumers into thinking they're getting a bargain, when in fact, the store has simply set the price artificially high and then enticed the customer back with a fabricated discount. In one case, we saw a company advertising an item we were selling for 30% off!! When we checked their website, the item was priced so high that we were cheaper even with their 30% discount! Sadly, that sort of marketing is effective (and we've been encouraged by more than one marketing company to replicate the practice). But it makes us feel dishonest and inauthentic. Would you rather see more coupons even if it meant higher prices? Let us know. Your opinion matters.

Of course, we do want to reward our loyal supporters. We offer a limited coupon once per month to our e-mail newsletter subscribers as well as our Facebook and Instagram followers. The coupon is generally good on one department each month, and we rotate categories throughout the year. Check out our Coupons, Sales and Specials section for more details.

What's in a Name?

faery garden "Faerie" is the traditional spelling of the Celtic tales of folk figures, sometimes referred to as "The Fey," "Fairies" or "Fair Folk." Centuries of myths attach different characteristics to the Faeries, but most of them have a few things in common. Faeries are joyous and carefree, a bit mischievous and occasionally naughty, but on the whole, good-hearted. Faeries live in the heart of the forest, close to the land. They honor the earth and the trees, not as a worship practice, but as a deeply ingrained respect and knowledge of their connection to all things through their shared home. They express their gratitude through joy.

Faerie's Dance is not meant as a group of Faeries dancing, but the elegant, frivolous, frolicking dance of an individual Faerie. Hence, the Faerie's Dance! Each step of the dance is performed wildly, with great pleasure, and yet also honorably and gently, with deep reverence. (One of our fantasies is to one day come upon a Faerie glade and witness the intoxicating dance of the Faerie.)

Faerie's Dance's goal is to ensure that every aspect of our business be prepared with honor to our earth, but we also keep it fun and light to express that honor not with somber veneration, but through joy and delight. While consumerism in general is not exactly the best thing for the planet, our society isn't likely going to change overnight. So let us joyously embrace who we are. Let us choose wonderful, pretty things that make us feel good about ourselves while simultaneously dancing our blissful dance with gentle footsteps upon the planet.

Our Founder

FaeriesDance.com's Founder, AdrienneAdrienne Catone is the founder and current CEO of Faerie's Dance, Inc. While Faerie's Dance is a micobusiness, Adrienne liked the term CEO better than President. (She also happens to be the Secretary and the Janitor, but hopes to rectify that over time.) Adrienne has an M.S. degree in Applied Math and worked in the Aerospace Engineering field for 20 years before opening Faerie's Dance. She's an avid traveler and has been fortunate to experience a lot of the world. An encounter with a silverback gorilla troupe on one of her journeys first opened her eyes to the need for sustainability. Adrienne is a vegan and custom built the Faerie's Dance warehouse on her property in Happy Valley, Oregon.
